Apple has revealed the official price tags of its latest iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 for Indian market. Even though the release dates are still unknown, the devices will respectively start at Rs 35,900 and Rs 28,900, Apple said.
On the heels of it, prices of the current iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 have gone down, taking the devices to the affordable tablet segment in India.
With the starting price at Rs 35,900 for the base model 16GB iPad Air 2, its higher end models – 64GB and 128GB – will come for Rs 42,900 and Rs 49,900. While the 64GB and 128GB iPad Mini 3 will hit Indian stores for Rs 35,900 and Rs 42,900. Both will be up for pre-orders from October 17.
The iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are coming up with a pack of new features. As for the top-tier, big screen iPad Air 2, you have an iPhone-like TouchID as the key attraction, and it is 18 percent thinner than its predecessor. An improved Retina display and ultrafast wireless technology are other notable advantages of the new iPad Air 2.
The new edition iPad Mini 3 is set to come with a 7.9-inch Retina display. It boasts a 5MP iSight rear camera that is capable to record video at 1080p HD. The gadget sports an HD FaceTime front camera too. It will be up for sale in silver, gray and gold colors.
Meanwhile, price cuts have made the last year iPad Air and iPad Mini tablet affordable for regular Indian customers. The iPad Mini 2 (Wi-Fi-only) is now starting at Rs 17,900. Wi-Fi only base model of it Retina screen version starts at Rs 21,900.
The 16GB version of the original iPad Air (Wi-Fi-only) is now up for Rs 28,900, with a cut of around Rs 7,000. It is not known for what prices the 32GB and Wi-Fi 3G combo variant of iPad Air will be available.
